For Writing this week we had to make a poem, we had different choices on what our poem could be like. Here is the options we got, Rhymed poetry, Riddle Poem, Shape Poem, or a Haiku. I chose the haiku, In a Haiku you just have to have three lines ( first line has to have 5 syllables and the middle line has to have 7 syllables and the last line also 5 syllables), with 17 syllables in total. How to Write a Haiku in 3 Easy Steps. Here's a link to a google drawing with more info on how to write a Haiku.
I chose a Haiku 1, because I have never done it before and 2, because it looks easy but it's very irritating when you have to fit so many syllables in such a short sentence. Here is a screenshot of my work.
So have you ever made a haiku before?

Hi Dejon
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your lockdown haiku! I agree it can be frustrating trying to fit a certain amount of syllables into one sentence. You have explained the task really well and have clearly explained how to structure a haiku. I have also written some haikus before.
